Font Bike

The more fonts you put on something, the faster it goes right?

In 2006 I repainted my old Trek 1000. First I polished it down to the aluminum. Then I layed out the type on computer from which I cut vinyl stencils. The last steps involved wrapping the stencils around the frame (difficult!), then a light coat of spraypaint (don’t want to add too much weight).

Using flash, I built a flash microsite to showcase this bike. Most of the work was doing the photography, which required the building of a rig to suspend and rotate the bike.

The font bike has also made an appearance here.

For fun I’ve created this parred down version, using CSS and Javascript. The code could probably be improved. I welcome your suggestions.
